because every picture tells a story... An interactive learning column, she said. I would like to start a new chapter in my business. At first I had images of long hours at the keyboard, searching for ideas, reading other people’s websites, critiquing their writing, all the while asking myself if I could do it. Then I realized before I got started on any of these ideas that sure I can! Why not! I’ve known Beth for 19 years now. I know more about her than some of her best friends. I’ve seen her in all kinds of situations. I could definitely write for her, and in turn help her with her top notch photography business.Already I’ve digressed from my original post, but I don’t think I can introduce our new adventure for Beth without telling you how we met. I met first met Beth in March of 1997 in her beautifully decorated home in a tight, cobblestone street in downtown Newport, R.I. One that the trashmen called Hell’s Kitchen one day while I tried to find a parking spot on a dead end street at the top of a hill, surrounded by more cars than a car dealership, but not the kind where they’re all parked all nice and straight. Beth and her husband lived on the kind of street where you do your best parallel parking, then sneak away quietly in the hopes that some old, local woman doesn’t run out of her front door and throw her cane at you ...

This newborn came into my studio at 7 days old. He has 2 older sisters that are truly the sweetest little girls I have ever met. His mom and dad are came in for the family portrait to document this special moment in their lives. I was so impressed by how his two sisters were so loving and caring and happy to be with him and pose with him. After we got the family and sibling shots, we settled in to get his debut portrait alone! Baby boy was so happy, warm and snuggly and gave me a few smiles just at the right times! I love to photograph the newborns in my portrait studio. This way I can control the heat (very warm for baby) the noise( white noise for baby) and lighting ( I use studio light and window light). Newborn Portraits in the studio are so comfortable for the whole family too! I have a space for the families to retreat to, to relax and unwind while I capture their newborn in their first days of life.

It was wonderful meeting 16 days old newborn baby boy Gavin! He came in happy as a clam and full of smiles. After swooning into the camera it was time for a snooze. I love photographing the newborns on simple white backdrop. This way all of your attention goes to baby and his cute little features. These classic images will never go out of style! After capturing these timeless images on white, I love to get the newborn all curled up on black in black and white. Again, this feeling of simplicity draws you right into the details of the baby! Nautical theme for the last shot requested by the family! Thank you dear Gavin for being a great model!!! ;O)

It was so wonderful meeting this new family of three last month. These mamas were so excited about their new arrival. They were both beaming with pride and happiness about their newborn son and I could not be any more happier for them. I am so thrilled that they choose me to capture this very special moment in their lives. The little guy was perfect. He ended up smiling as I was changing sets two or three times, but at the end of the day, I got him smiling! ! Enjoy!

This park in Peace Dale RI is a very special place for this RI family. This is why they wanted to have their family portrait taken here. I love to photograph in special locations for my clients. This way not only is the family getting a great portrait, they are also getting a great memory they can have of their special place and moment in their lives. I love seeing families grow, and this one is no exception! This is such a wonderful magical time in your lives and I am so glad I can help capture it forever for you! Enjoy! USB being shipped out today!
