Ratan + Kevin - East meets West -
Ratan is from India and Kevin is from Indiana, so there was a fusion in cultures and celebrations throughout the day. Given the current divisive political and cultural rhetoric, I was overcome with hopefulness for our world photographing this beautiful Indian-Dutch wedding.
Cloudy skies could not dampen the mood as the gorgeous Indian saris and the pink and orange decor added a pop of color to the day. The Bride walked down the aisle accompanied by both her father and mother. Rushi of Silk Events had guests of all ages up and dancing with a mix of current music both top 40 and Bollywood hits. The bride's gown was an Indian style Lengha Choli in white with gold and silver embroidery. The bride's hands were decorated with Henna applied by the beautiful and talented Rani Nathaniel MacNeal. Her wrists were adorned with gold bangles.
The Bride and her family stayed at Mabel's Farmhouse at the Norman Bird Sanctuary where we shot the pre-wedding photos
Even their adorable Pomsky, Pixie made a showing. One of the highlights was the Baraat which is the grooms procession. Kevin was accompanied by his family and friends in a festive procession singing and dancing around him to music played by a professional dhol ( large bass drum) player.
Their beautiful wedding was at the new Atlantic Resort in Newport RI. Drummer and DJ - Silk Events wedding cake- Fatullis Flowers - SunnyBee Bride wedding shoes Badgley Mischka wedding dress - Monikas
